Entertaining Strangers 1987 Print

Set in Dorchester, amid social and economic upheavals of 19th-century England, the play centres on the epic battle of wills between the spirited proprietress of the town’s brewery and an evangelical local parson. Both are challenged and changed by the cholera epidemic of 1854.
