Sunday in the Park with George 1990 Print

From the richly textured canvas of Georges Seurat's pointillist masterpiece 'Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte', Sondheim and Lapine fashion another: a world where, for the artist, art comes before love, before everything. A century later, Seurat's great-grandson is wrestling with the same obsessions. He finds inspiration from the past as two worlds ingenously collide.
