Fuente Ovejuna 1989 Print

Lope's Fuente Ovejuna takes its name from a Spanish village and is a true story of oppression, rape, a rebellion led by a young woman, lynching and courage under torture. Although the most famous and widely performed of Lope's plays, it is rarely seen in this country.
